Education Committee Functions

Committee Members And Organization The Committee Chair shall be appointed by the Section Chair. A Vice Chair shall be appointed by the Committee Chair with the advice and consent of the Section Chair Elect. The Vice Chair may succeed the outgoing Committee Chair subject to the approval of the Section Chair. The Committee shall consist of the Chair, Vice Chair, a representative to the Maryland Board of Certification, and a minimum of three (3) members to be selected by the Committee Chair. The Committee should have representation on the regional Short Course Committee.

Committee Functions

The purpose of this committee is to provide for a functional education program for the Section which encompasses all aspects of public water supply. The committee shall, in cooperation with AWWA, or independently, as the Board may direct, pursue an active educational program consisting of the arrangement for promotion and presentation of seminars, workshops, teleconferences, and short courses for all classifications of water supply personnel.

It shall act on behalf of AWWA in the dissemination of information made available by AWWA or by the Chesapeake Section.

It shall cooperate with other Section Committees on educational activities and report such activities to the Executive Board. The Committee Chair and the regional Short Course Committee representative shall provide for the maximum use of AWWA educational materials, the teaching resources of the entire membership and the financial resources of the Section in the presentation of the annual Short Courses or any other training activities approved by the Board.
